Who was Rahul ?

Rahul was younger son of Dr Ravindra and Jyoti Deshmukh. He was born in Nagpur, India, raised in Ile-Ife, Nigeria and had primary education in Manipal, India. He was doing his Mechanical Engineering at Dharwad, Karnataka, India where the ill fate met him.

Why the Trust carries his name ?

Rahul was philanthropic in nature. He loved animals and pets. He would always be ready to help those who are in need. An idea of setting up of a charitable trust was muted by his father Dr Deshmukh in 2002 when his elder brother Amol was on a vacation trip to India from United States where he was doing his graduation. All family members along with Rahul read the document of the proposed trust formation. He gave some valuable suggestions to broaden its scope, which were unanimously accepted. He met with an untimely death in March 2003. All remaining members, there after, resolved that the Trust would be constituted in his name. Hence the name: Rahul’s Response.

What is special about this Trust?

The Rahul’s Response is not a normal charitable trust. It has wide sphere of activity. Apart from helping poor children and animal protection agencies, it also would expand its scope to promote and inculcate dignity of labor, appreciation of intellectual gifts and talents of all kinds.

What does it believe in?

The Rahul’s Response believes that people of all age groups and from all sections of society have somewhere in them, an urge to help others. Hence, the trust would try to reach people of various age groups and of various societal strata in order to involve them in this onerous task.

What is it looking for?

To achieve all the objectives is a challenging task, which the Rahul’s Response is committed to take up. It needs moral and material support. It can be a donation for improving administration set up or enhancing the Trust’s reach to the needy at difficult-to-access places. It can also be giving in kind an advanced computer system, software upgrade or donating a workstation.

What are its future plans?

The Trust has ambitious plans ahead. It determines to grow on the ideals cherished by Rahul and wishes to become a leading Non Governmental Organization helping the needy. It commits itself to serve less fortunate in society and their joining the mainstream for growth.

Can the Trust be international?

Yes, it can be truly international in future to execute larger projects. At present, it limits its operational scope to India. It is active in Maharashtra and Karnataka provinces. It aims at spreading its wings in other Indian regions. Although it has a contact-point in USA, it is mainly an information dissemination center.

What type of projects can be taken up by the Trust?

The Trust handles projects within the framework of its objectives. Projects related to needy children, women, old men and women, stray and wild animals and disaster victims are of interest to the Trust.

Can I bring in a project and work on its completion in collaboration with the Trust?

You are welcome to bring any project that reflects aims and objectives of the Trust and work on it in collaboration. The Trust will scrutiny your proposal and the nature of the project before agreeing for collaboration.

Will my contribution be in safe hands?

We shall keep in touch with you and keep you informed about rightful use of your contribution. Upon getting the funds, the donor is contacted about receipt of funds and a voucher is generated to be sent to the donor. The donor can claim Income Tax benefit by showing it in the Income Tax Returns filed. Subsequently, utilization of the money is also communicated giving details of the cause for which it was spent.

Will my contribution be in safe hands?

Using Credit/Debit Card: Credit/Debit card transfers are instantaneous and free of botheration. Kindly check with your bank for procedure to transfer money to the Rahul’s Response account.

Paying Cash: We avoid cash transaction. It is the Trust’s way of working to accept check or electronic transfers. But in unavoidable situation, cash amount of Rs. 1,000 or less is accepted only by the trustees and not by anyone else. You are advised to obtain receipt upon payment.

Can I join RR without being physically present in its offices?

Yes, you may do so by prior arrangement of completing certain formalities and giving details. Once you are accepted by RR, you may represent the trust in home region or any other region where you are confident to work and show results.
